The sad thing is that both types of agents you describe above will get the same commission from the insurance company.  Even though the customer doesn't pay the agent directly, they are essentially paying the agent's commission with their premiums.  Do you want somebody who has the ability to type your age, gender, birthday, etc into a computer and look for the lowest number for your money or do you want somebody who has the connections and know-how to get you the protection that you need as cheaply and with as little hassle as possible?    

Do you have any other tips for sniffing out a quality agent vs. "B&#38;Ser"?</description>
