Better Life Insurance Rates For Smokers!

September 15th, 2007

It’s certainly no secret that life insurance underwriters have taken a hard line stance on the issue of smoking over the years. They have not taken lightly the connection between smoking and cancer, heart disease, copd and other health risks.

Recently a couple of companies have stepped out from the crowd and have offered lower rates on term insurance for smokers. Liberty Life and Western Reserve Life have distanced themselves from the crowd and are offering rates that are 20-40% lower than the industry average for preferred health smokers.

Bottom line. Smokers will never get non smoking rates, but with the help of an independent agent, they can at least find rates that are more palatable than the average.
